Shaibu's Blog

My name is Ibrahim Shaibu

13/11/2006

I am a native of Ghana. I ended my education at the secondary
school level since there is no support here. I would have ended my
schooling at the primary, but since I was a footballer I manage to
go Junior Secondary School and Senior Secondary School. I played
football in two neighbor countries. My football carrier came to an
end when had a fracture. I then join the coaching course ,help
people who stand a chance of facing the same problems. I also
present grassroots sports (local and Rural)as a leisure work.

Tamale is the capital town of northern region. It is one of the
biggest in Ghana with relatively low population as compare to most
region. Main occupation is peasant farming (hand to mouth)Rural
urban migration is also high in the area. It is also rated as one
of the malaria pandemic and guinea worm area. It is a good place
for livestock rearing.

The project is a community base project. It is made up of three
deprive areas. Namely Tamale Rural (Gurugu Yapalsi),savelugu and
Bogunaayili. It exposes the rural and deprive children talents and
also made them to feel that they are part of the larger community.
Ben Carpenter came earlier, went round with us to visit the
children, to tell them about their missions and looking forward for
the coming of another Ben Hayman which the children named
asBen1andBen2.You went round communities by telling them life in UK
and the children told you about life in Ghana. You coach the
children and taken them through some drills.

You teach, council the children about their life. You organize
gala games and party for the children. Some of the children won
prices.

I hope that the project would be expanded also if the children
can be help to be able to also participate in the domestic league
so that the parents who still don't what to releases their children
to go to school would look at the others and release them. I also
hope that goal Ghana would leave long to support the deprive
children. Since the children are always willing to see their two
friends from UK {Benl and Ben2} I would urge you to always send
down word of advice to them. Since the rural people have football
as the only sports, I strongly believe that their ambition of
playing the Domestic colts league would come to pass. I also hope
that four years to come we would be able to bring some of them to
great people in the community.

On the part of education all children under our programme all of
them are in school. On the part of soccer, I must say it is
fantastic. Some of them are now in the regional teams and years to
come they would spring better and better.
